true lover of all music, Shiba combines R&B,
jazz, blues and rock into a soulful blend of
captivating sound. Her big voice and larger-than-life
stage persona have taken her to Philadelphia’s
Neo-soul & house
music circuits and Detroit & Germany’s
jazz scenes. Born and raised in Detroit, she
credits the Motown legacy for teaching her that
a true entertainer not only sings, but moves,
talks & looks the part. So get ready for
a first-rate show!! |
A
classically-trained violinist since the age
of 5 & self-taught guitarist since 16, David
jokes that he "played in Carnegie Hall
at 9, & it was all downhill from there".
One of the 1st American students of the Suzuki
Violin School, his early performances were in Rochester, NY, with Anastasia
Jempelis (Eastman School of Music Prep Dept.),
& the Eastman Children's Chorus under Milford
Fargo. He also served as engineer for WCC, WEMU,
the Ann Arbor Art Fair, recorded at Solid Sound,
Pearl Sound, & played with Larry Austin
& Les Carter, formerly of Shotgun. |
Nat Wilson is a force to be reckoned with has performing with over 40 years of experience of working in concerts, nightclubs, halls, and festivals. He has been onstage with Carl Carlton, Grant Green, Ohio Players and many others. In engineering, producing, writing and arranging, Nat's talent is way above average.

John has been making music for over 30 years. With his many years of professional experience, from studio sessions to palying live gigs, John prides himself as being a "working" bass player with the ability to cover many styles. Bass is John's instrument of choice, but he is also gifted as a record producer, promoter and sound writer. Since his early years of studying music, He has played with or shared the stage with a great many artist. |
A
30 year veteran of the music industry, Cameron
is one of the premiere percussionists of South-East
Michigan. He started off his career as a Blue-Ribbon
percussion winner at the Interlochen Music Camp.
Since that early start, Cameron has played with Little Carl Carlton & the Grant
Green Jazz Band, just to name a few. He has
held an audience captivated at the Fox Theater
& may other large venues in the Detroit
Metropolitan area, as well as served as a percussionist
for a variety of musical & dance groups. |
The
ambition of a man is measured by the determination
in his heart. Wendell Childs was born and raised
in Gary, ID. Using everything in his home to
bang & beat on, he was born a drummer. When
his family moved to Inkster, MI, his choices
were unlimited. This young man began playing
all sorts of music. Wendell has played and sat
in with the Four Tops, the Chilites, the Spaniels,
CoCo Taylor, Arutie Blues Boy White, Buddy Guy,
Karl Weatherby and many others. “Wendell

Mason
got his keyboard skills playing classical piano
as a child, when among other honors he won a
full scholarship to Interlochen Music Camp.
He is a lover of rock and funk, playing his
own rhythm-intensive originals. He’s interested in taking the technique of Bach fugues
and applying it to the polyrhythm of hard funk.
Mason plays well off of NoteWorthy’s great
grooves, and is looking forward to jamming live
and making people dance. |
Misha Nicholas has been playing and writing music for over 20 years. He has performed at diverse venues from Wayne Newton's Tamiment resort in the Poconos to the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has also composed many songs and
background scores for marionette shows produced by the Dreamland Puppet Troupe. Misha is a member of ASCAP, one of the world's largest performers' rights organizations, and has been interviewed on local television. His recordings have been played on local radio and have appeared as backing tracks to various audio and independent film projects. |
In his youth, Clip studied classical Bass & Viola but quickly found himself pulled to all styles & areas of music. He’s performed with groups of nearly every style & has proven to be versatile in the music industry as a performer, but as & educator & engineer. As a member of The Marine Corps Band, he acted as Chief Sound/Recording Engineer, Assist. Producer, Bassist, Guitarist, Percussionist, & performed in over 300 commitments a year, from small festivals to Time Square. Clip delved deep into jazz studying under Delbert Felix & performing with Ben Tucker, Marcus Printup, Kevin Bales, & The Count Basie Orchestra. Larry Youngsis a self taught drummer since the age of four. At an early age on stage with his father, the excitement of the crowd inspired Larry to play drums. At the age of 14, he started playing professionally. Larry started playing R&B and loved to play funky drums. Larry has been an opening act for Marvin Cease, Clarence Carter, Michael Powell and Anita Baker of "Chapter 8" and has had various contracts with other bands. Larry hopes one day to be a famous drummer. |
Melvin Chisholm has been "married" to his music for the over 30 years. Solid grooves and crazy fills are no stranger to this bass player. An aggressive style mixed with a laid back state of mind is a combination that makes Melvin's style unique. Since his early years of studying music, Melvin has prided himself as being a "working" bass player with the ability to cover many styles. He has played with or shared the stage with a great many artists. Melvin's instrument of choice is the bass guitar, but he also plays guitar, and saxophone. |
As the daughter of a classical pianist & a classical composer/jazz bassist, Gwenyth “Wendy” Hayes has been playing music all her life & has grown to become one of the celebrated bassists in the Ann Arbor, Detroit & Toledo areas. She has played both string & electric bass in various genres of music from classical, jazz, & rock, to blues, soul, funk & R&B. Formerly of the Terraplanes, & national recording artist Murali Coryell, she is now using her solid, “in-the-pocket” playing style to help lay the rhythmic foundation of Ann Arbor’s newest soul band Noteworthy. |
